Brisbane CBD will host the city’s largest and most formal ANZAC Day commemorations in 2026, centred around Anzac Square and key streets in the inner city. From the pre-dawn service to the mid-morning parade, these events bring together thousands to honour those who served.
Brisbane City ANZAC Day Dawn Service
4:28 AM | Anzac Square (Shrine of Remembrance), Brisbane CBD
The official Brisbane CBD dawn service begins at 4:28am, with thousands expected to gather for The Last Post, wreath laying, and a minute of silence. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early due to large crowds and road closures.
Anzac Square Memorial Galleries (Open Day)
5:30 AM – 3:00 PM | Anzac Square Memorial Galleries
Located beneath the Shrine of Remembrance, the galleries will open extended hours on ANZAC Day, offering interactive exhibits, wartime stories, and a space for quiet reflection honouring Queensland service members.
Brisbane CBD ANZAC Day Parade
9:45 AM – 12:30 PM | Adelaide Street (between George Street & Creek Street), Brisbane City
The annual ANZAC Day parade sees veterans, current ADF personnel, and community groups march through the CBD. Proceedings begin near King George Square before moving along Adelaide Street, drawing large crowds each year.
Queensland Museum ANZAC Legacy Gallery
Open from 1:30 PM on Anzac Day | Queensland Museum
An afternoon option near the CBD, this gallery explores Queensland’s wartime history through artefacts, personal stories, and exhibits including the preserved WWI German tank Mephisto.

Beyond the main commemorative events, parts of the city will also serve as a visual tribute, with both the Kangaroo Point Bridge and Victoria Bridge illuminated in red for ANZAC Day. The striking display offers a moment of reflection across the river, symbolising remembrance and honour for those who have served.
